It is a tough day for a lot of folks out there, so I hope this message finds you well. I didn’t intend to send out a newsletter today, but I found myself realizing that not everyone has a great time on the holiday, and, maybe, someone could use some distraction. So, if you are celebrating alone, or surrounded by family and friends, I wish you well today. Either way, in this edition, you will find that there are special reads just for the holidays that I have put together.
NEW!
I have added ordering to my website, so you can order author signed copies of my books! These are only available for those books that are out in paperback/hardback currently and do take 4-5 weeks for delivery due to the fact I don’t normally keep books on hand.
Drama teacher Abby Devlin has always dreamed of being a world-famous actress. While stardom has, so far, proven elusive, she has made quite a name for herself at McMillan Playhouse, where she’s just been cast in a self-written production. Her triumph quickly turns to dread, however, when she learns that McMillan has cast a soap star as her new leading man. After a painful divorce, Dean Altman, former soap star and a single dad, readjusted his priorities, moving back home to Galveston, Texas with his young daughter, Preslie. It doesn’t take long for him to feel the itch to dust himself off and step back into the acting world, which brings him to McMillan’s stage…and Abby’s attention. There is a fire between Abby and Dean when they meet in rehearsal, and not the good kind. Sizzling tension leads to drama both on and off-stage, but when they are forced to work together for the sake of the play, they slowly begin to give in to the undeniable chemistry between them. Before they truly have a chance to understand what they might have, however, an opportunity presents itself to Dean—one that could make or break what they have come to find in one another. Soulmate, Stage Right is an enemies-to-lovers, single dad romance, with quick progression and high-stakes emotion. It will appeal to contemporary romance fans, as well as fans of Hallmark movies. It is low on the heat, but high on the sweet, and can best be described as a romantic dramedy.
Cassie Caldwell is a confident and feisty widow who isn't afraid to speak her mind, even while attempting to navigate her way through the year after her young husband's accidental and sudden death. With the help of her family and friends, Cassie finds herself in the process of getting her life back on track and healing. Serendipitously, she receives a letter of condolence from Matt Brooks, an acquaintance from high school. After reconnecting, both Matt and Cassie begin to realize that they might be more than just old classmates as they find themselves spending more time together and corresponding regularly. Cassie attempts to move on from her husband and accept her new life situation, while Matt comes to the conclusion that he is just as enamored with Cassie as the always was. As their feelings deepen, Matt worries that he should protect Cassie from her own grown affection until he can understand the best way to move forward from his own past and explain it to Cassie.
